About the conference
The World Environmental Education Congress is the leading global gathering for environmental education and education for sustainable development. For over two decades it has brought together the researchers, educators, institutions, NGOs and changemakers shaping how the world learns to live within planetary limits.
In 2026 the conference goes fully online — removing travel cost and carbon, and opening the doors to participants who could never join an in-person edition. Under the theme “Reconnect with Earth,” WEEC 2026 will explore education, community and the ecological transition across plenaries, thematic tracks, workshops and a youth programme.
Why this matters now
A platform, not a product
WEEC is a non-profit, community-driven effort. Partner support keeps registration affordable, funds participation from the Global South, and sustains an independent space where environmental education advances on its own terms.
